Our Aims and Purposes
The aims of Sacred Scotland are:
- To promote spiritual understanding in a multi-denominational context by enabling the public to appreciate all buildings designed for worship and active as living churches.
- To promote the common purpose of mission by opening our churches and welcoming visitors tourists and pilgrims.
- To advance the education of the public in the history, art, architecture and traditions of our church buildings of all denominations in Scotland.
- To advance the church as a focal point in the community, and to encourage cooperation among the churches themselves and between them and their local communities.
- To publish details of member churches, their services, events, and opening arrangements to visitors.
- To provide advice to member churches on the care and reception of visitors and the production of historical and other information.
